WHY THE LLAMA?

If you haven’t already guessed it, I love Llamas! Some might simply say it’s because I think they’re cute— which I can’t deny, because look at that face!

The truth of the matter is that long ago, after weeks of research for a college assignment, I began to realize an interesting fact about the species. Llamas make incredible guard animals! How? Unlike their human or predatory counterparts, the llama can easily and seemingly instinctually relate to most other mammals; Essentially ignoring physical and genetic make-ups altogether, the llama protects other mammals like goats, sheep, cattle, and even donkeys. Wouldn’t it be nice if it were that easy for humans? Ultimately, this is something I relate to on a personal level and I think striving to become similar to the llama is not a bad way to approach life. Despite a nasty predisposition to spitting at people, the Llama is a beautiful, thoughtful, and humbling creature, and thus why I’ve chosen it to represent myself.
